Specification & scope

A cable-management system is only as good as its fittings. Vajra supplies the full accessory range matched in material, thickness and finish to the parent tray, so installed runs keep their corrosion rating through every direction change.

Tray Accessories. Buyer Questions Answered

Covering specification, standards, finish, export documentation, lead times and procurement logistics for cable tray accessories & fittings from India.

Yes, strongly recommended. Bends, tees, reducers and covers need to match the parent tray's profile, thickness and finish for the run to keep a consistent corrosion rating and load path through every direction change. Mixed-source accessories are a common cause of finish mismatch, HDG tray paired with pre-galv fittings for instance, and that shows up as premature rust right at the joints.

Bends, tees, reducers, covers and couplers typically export under HS 73089090 (other structures and parts of structures, iron/steel), the same code as the parent tray. Confirm with your customs broker if any specific fitting falls under a different subheading based on its exact configuration.

Cable tray fittings fall under HSN 7308 and carry 18% GST domestically, same as the tray itself. Exports go out zero-rated under an LUT, or with IGST paid and refunded. An overseas buyer's FOB or CIF price carries only their own country's import duty.

Plan for horizontal and vertical bends (45° and 90°), equal tees, crosses, width reducers, covers (snap or bolted), coupler or splice plates for run continuity, and cantilever or bracket supports, all in the same material and finish as the tray. Ordering tray without this full set, then air-freighting a second shipment of bends and tees later, is one of the most common and expensive procurement mistakes we see.

Standard radii are 300, 600 and 900 mm. The correct choice depends on the cable's minimum bend radius, itself a function of cable diameter and voltage class, not the tray width alone. Check your cable manufacturer's minimum bend radius specification and pick the tray bend radius that doesn't force a tighter bend than the cable allows.
