Which term works for your port
Vajra International ships on FOB, CIF, CFR, EXW and DDP terms. CIF is the most common for Middle East and Asia — we arrange sea freight and minimum insurance. FOB is preferred when buyers have established freight contracts.
Free on Board
Vajra delivers goods on board the vessel at Kolkata/Haldia port. Risk and freight cost from port onwards falls to the buyer. Most commonly used when the buyer has their own freight contract.
Buyers with freight agreements · Bulk orders
Cost, Insurance & Freight
Vajra covers sea freight and minimum cargo insurance to the destination port. Risk transfers at origin port. Most common term for Middle East, Southeast Asia and Africa.
UAE, Saudi Arabia, Philippines, Kenya, Qatar
Cost & Freight
Same as CIF but buyer arranges their own cargo insurance. Used when the buyer's insurer has lower rates or cargo value doesn't justify our coverage.
USA, Nigeria, Bangladesh, UK
Ex Works
Buyer or their freight forwarder collects from our Howrah / Kolkata facility. Buyer is responsible for export customs clearance, haulage and freight. Quoted on request.

How we pack for sea freight
Wooden crates (ISPM-15)
All wooden packaging is heat-treated to ISPM-15 — required by Australia, the USA and most EU/UK ports. Certificate of heat treatment included.
Steel-strapped bales
Structural sections, gratings and long profiles are strapped into steel-banded bundles with end-cap protection. Survives container transit without crushing.
VCI poly wrapping
Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor film wrapping on copper busbars, precision components and earthing strips — prevents surface oxidation during ocean transit.
Moisture-absorbing desiccants
Silica gel or clay desiccant sachets inside sealed crates for electrical components and precision parts. Prevents humidity damage on long transit routes.
Pallet loading for FCL/LCL
Full container load (FCL) or groupage (LCL) packing is tailored to cargo type and container size (20' / 40' / 40'HC). Load plans provided with packing list.
Net / gross weights & CBM
All packing lists include verified net weight, gross weight and cubic measurements — required for freight cost calculation, B/L, and customs valuation.
TT, LC and advance payment
TT (Wire Transfer)
Telegraphic transfer — most common for repeat buyers. Typically 30% advance, 70% against copy B/L. First order may require full advance.
LC (Letter of Credit)
Irrevocable LC issued by buyer's bank, confirmed by Indian bank. All standard terms accepted. Sight or 30/60/90-day usance LC. We provide draft LC wording on request.
Advance Payment
100% advance by TT before production start. Standard for new buyers or small custom orders under $10,000 USD. Proforma Invoice issued on request.
