Solar Structures for United States projects, made in India

What it takes to land solar structures on a United States site: the port they clear through, the standards a consultant will hold them to, and the paperwork that has to travel with them.

01Route and compliance

Getting solar structures into United States

American buyers rarely doubt Indian capacity. They doubt whether the paperwork survives an ASTM review, which is a fair doubt, because plenty of it does not. We galvanize to ASTM A123 and ship the mill test certificates with the container, so the check happens on your desk instead of on trust.

Port of entry

Port of Houston, TX

Also cleared through Port of Los Angeles / Long Beach, CA, Port of Newark, NJ.

06Questions buyers ask

Solar Structures into United States — the questions that come up

Answered by the people who make the product, not a sales desk.

Ground-mount fixed-tilt tables on pile or ramming foundations are the default for utility-scale and open-land solar farms. Rooftop systems, rail-and-clamp for pitched roofs, ballasted frames for flat roofs, suit commercial and industrial rooftop solar where land isn't available. The choice comes down to site type, not project size; a large C&I rooftop still needs a rooftop system, not ground-mount.

For mild-steel hot-dip galvanized ground-mount fixed-tilt structures, budget roughly USD 45,000 to 70,000 per MWp depending on table design, pile type and wind zone. Rooftop ballasted runs approximately USD 30,000 to 50,000 per MWp, rooftop penetrating USD 25,000 to 40,000 per MWp. These are budgeting ranges; confirm against your site wind data and module spec for a firm quote.

Hot-dip galvanized after fabrication (IS 4759 / ASTM A123, 65 to 85 microns) is the right call for any outdoor solar structure expected to last 25 to 30 years, since it coats every cut edge and drilled hole. Pre-galvanized GI coil, around 20 microns, is cheaper but leaves bare cut edges that rust-track within the first wet season at humid or coastal sites. Specify HDG for the main structure and purlins on any serious project.

IS 875 Part 3 is the Indian standard for wind loads on structures and the basis for most India-origin solar structure design. Export projects should also confirm the destination country's standard: ASCE 7 for the US, EN 1991-1-4 for Europe, AS/NZS 1170.2 for Australia. Wind zone and terrain category vary significantly by site, so this isn't a detail worth skipping.

A 1 MW rooftop project (≈2,500 modules) ships in 4–6 weeks. Smaller rooftops (200–500 kW) ship in 2–3 weeks. We hold rail and clamp stock to meet the C&I solar developer schedule which often turns on a 4–6 week order-to-installation cycle.
