Pile-driven (rammed) foundations are fast (10–15 modules per day per crew), reusable and require no curing time — they suit good soil and large utility plants. Concrete foundations (drilled or pad) are needed where soil is rocky, expansive (black cotton), or where load is high. Most Indian and Middle East utility solar runs pile-driven; African projects often go pad.
Sizing follows IS 875 (Part 3) in India, ASCE 7 in the US, EN 1991-1-4 in Europe and AS/NZS 1170.2 in Australia. The site basic wind speed and topography decide the design pressure. For Indian cyclone zones (East Coast, Gujarat), basic wind speed 50 m/s drives the section sizes.
Hot-dip galvanizing to ASTM A123 with 85 µm minimum on pre-galvanized members, or HDG to ASTM A123 at 100 µm for piles in aggressive soil. The zinc loss model gives 25 years at most Indian and Middle East sites. Coastal sites near the splash zone need duplex (HDG + paint).
Vajra supplies fixed-tilt structures as standard. For tracker projects we fabricate the rollers, torque tubes, gear boxes' mounting brackets and the post bases under license to the tracker OEM (Nextracker, Arctech, Soltec) — the tracker EPC supplies the controls.
The tilt angle and row pitch come from the module datasheet and the latitude-optimised generation calc. Posts are spaced at 4-module, 6-module or 8-module strings; cross-beams hold the module rails. We share the row layout and BOM as part of the supply.

All products are manufactured at Vajra's Howrah facility under ISO 9001:2015 quality management. In-house roll-forming, welding, galvanizing and testing — without sub-contractor dependency — ensures consistent dimensional accuracy and surface quality across export orders.
Precision Roll-Forming
CNC roll-forming lines capable of ±0.1 mm dimensional tolerance on MS, GI, SS, and aluminium sections.
Hot-Dip Galvanizing
In-house HDG plant conforming to ASTM A123 / IS 2629. Average coating: 85–140 µm. Pre-treatment: alkaline degreasing → pickling → fluxing.
Welding & Fabrication
MIG, TIG, SAW welding. Coded welders under ASME IX / IS 2825 qualification. Weld inspection by UT / DPT available.
Surface Treatment
Hot-dip galvanizing · Pre-galvanized GI · Powder coating (Tribo gun, 60–80 µm DFT) · Mill finish · Chromate passivation.
