Bifacial modules need enough ground clearance, typically 1 to 1.5 m minimum and higher for maximum rear-side irradiance capture, plus a reflective or light-coloured ground surface beneath the array to benefit from the rear-side generation. Standard fixed-tilt tables can be raised to suit, but confirm this requirement before finalizing the structure design. Retrofitting clearance later costs far more.

IS 875 Part 3 governs wind loads on the structure itself. IEC 62817 covers the mechanical performance and safety requirements specifically for photovoltaic tracking systems, single- and dual-axis, a narrower standard relevant only when a tracker is specified rather than fixed-tilt. Both may apply together on a tracker project.

Tin-sheet roofs use L-foot brackets with EPDM rubber gaskets and self-tapping screws, the gasket compresses against the corrugation peak and seals the screw penetration. For severe-weather sites we add a butyl tape under the bracket. The installation should follow the roof OEM's penetration spec.
