Hot-dip galvanized after fabrication (IS 4759 / ASTM A123, 65 to 85 microns) is what any outdoor, humid, coastal or industrial-wash environment needs, since it coats every cut edge and weld point. Pre-galvanized or electro-galvanized grating leaves cut edges bare and fails quickly outdoors. Specify HDG unless the panels sit in a permanently dry, sheltered indoor space.
Mill Test Certificate for the base steel, hot-dip galvanizing certificate stating zinc thickness, a Certificate of Origin for trade-agreement duty preference, and a commercial invoice with the correct HS code. For structural applications, arrange third-party inspection through SGS, TÜV or Bureau Veritas before shipment.
There's no fixed minimum internationally. Gratings commonly travel in the same container as cable tray, steel supports or handrails.
