Tower Fabrication for United Arab Emirates projects, made in India
What it takes to land tower fabrication on a United Arab Emirates site: the port they clear through, the standards a consultant will hold them to, and the paperwork that has to travel with them.
Getting tower fabrication into United Arab Emirates
Sourcing from India for a UAE job is not a leap: the UAE already buys more Indian earthing rod than any other country in the world. Under the India-UAE CEPA the duty on cable tray and earthing runs at 0% instead of 5%, but only against a Preferential Certificate of Origin. Ask whether your supplier issues one.

Trade picture
UAE is the #1 global importer of earthing rods from India (523 shipments) and #2 for cable trays (195 shipments, trailing only the Philippines). Jebel Ali is the GCC's dominant re-export hub, goods cleared here are onward-shipped to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Oman by road. Under India–UAE CEPA (in force May 2022), cable trays (HS 7308.90), earthing systems (HS 7326.90) and copper busbars (HS 7407.10) all attract 0% import duty at UAE Customs on presentation of a Preferential Certificate of Origin, down from 5% MFN. End users include DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority), ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company), Emaar Properties, and the extensive network of EPC contractors serving NEOM's supply chain via Jebel Ali. DEWA cable tray orders must comply with IEC 61386 and DEWA Engineering Standards. ADNOC offshore and onshore cable management must meet IEC 61439-2 and ADNOC DEP specifications.

Tower Fabrication into United Arab Emirates — the questions that come up
Answered by the people who make the product, not a sales desk.
Yes. Galvanized bolts, nuts and washers matched to the tower's connection design typically come as part of the complete package, so site erection doesn't require sourcing fasteners separately or matching grades independently.
CNC punching typically holds hole position tolerances within about 0.5 to 1 mm depending on the equipment and section thickness, tight enough for consistent bolted-connection fit-up across large tower quantities. Manual punching, used by less-equipped fabricators, has significantly wider tolerance and is a common source of site fit-up problems on large orders.
Hot-dip galvanized structural steel towers are typically designed for 25-plus years of outdoor service, provided the galvanizing meets the specified thickness and coverage. Coastal or highly corrosive environments may need enhanced galvanizing thickness or supplementary coating, so flag your site's environmental exposure at the design stage.
There's no single verified leader in tower fabrication either. Transmission, telecom and substation tower work is spread across several Indian structural steel hubs, some at very large scale for domestic utility contracts. Buyers shortlist on IS 802 design compliance, CNC angle-line precision and galvanizing quality, not capacity claims. Vajra International fabricates lattice tower members in Howrah to IS 802 and ASTM A123.
Yes, every member is steel-stamped (or laser-engraved on visible faces) with the tower number, member ID and orientation. Match-marking matters because lattice towers have thousands of bolts and getting an angle reversed costs days of site standdown. Our marking system is BOQ-tagged.
