CNC Components for United Kingdom projects, made in India

What it takes to land cnc components on a United Kingdom site: the port they clear through, the standards a consultant will hold them to, and the paperwork that has to travel with them.

01Route and compliance

Getting cnc components into United Kingdom

The UK charges no import duty on cable tray or earthing rod from India. That takes price off the table. What is left is whether the rod genuinely meets BS 7430 and whether anyone independent has verified it, and we will take third-party inspection at our own works to settle exactly that.

Port of entry

Port of Tilbury, London

Also cleared through Port of Bristol, Port of Liverpool, Port of Grangemouth, Scotland.

Shipped FOB, CIF, CFR.

Trade picture

UK is the #3 global importer of earthing rods from India (405 shipments) and a major buyer of CNC machined components, precision sheet metal, and deep-draw parts for the UK automotive and aerospace supply chain. Earthing system demand is driven by: grid connection earthing for UK DNO (Distribution Network Operator) infrastructure projects; rail earthing (Network Rail CP7 investment programme); and commercial construction earthing to BS 7430. The UK imposes ZERO import duty on cable trays (HS 7308.90) and earthing rods (HS 7326.90) under the UK Global Tariff MFN schedule, no FTA required. Compliance requirement: cable management products must meet BS 4678 or BS EN 50085. Earthing rods for DNO and rail projects must comply with BS 7430 and BS EN 62305-3. MTC documentation standard required by UK contractors is EN 10204 Type 3.1 (or Type 3.2 for Network Rail approved products). The UK–India Trade and Goods Agreement (in negotiation, provisional application anticipated) is expected to further improve tariff competitiveness for precision engineering components from India to UK buyers.

06Questions buyers ask

CNC Components into United Kingdom — the questions that come up

Answered by the people who make the product, not a sales desk.

Machined components generally sit under HSN 8487/7326 and carry 18% GST domestically. Exports ship zero-rated, under an LUT with no IGST or with IGST paid and refunded. An overseas buyer's FOB or CIF price carries only their own country's import duty, not Indian GST.

±0.01 mm is achievable on well-equipped multi-axis CNC turning and milling centres for suitable geometries. That's ISO 2768-m or tighter, adequate for most industrial, OEM and defence-grade precision work. Confirm the specific tolerance against your drawing's critical dimensions and ask for CMM (coordinate measuring machine) inspection reports as verification, not just a stated capability.

Pricing depends heavily on material, geometry complexity, tolerance requirements and batch size. A simple turned bushing costs a fraction of a complex 4-axis milled part with tight tolerances. Send your drawing for an accurate quote rather than expecting a generic per-piece or per-kg estimate, since machining time, not material cost, usually dominates the price for precision parts.

Commercial invoice and packing list, Mill Test Certificate or material composition certificate for raw stock, CMM inspection report against the approved drawing, and a Certificate of Origin for duty relief. For defence or critical applications, full batch/heat traceability documentation is included.

We run from prototype (1–5 off) through small-batch production (50–2000 off). Above 2000 we adapt the process (cellular fixturing, fixturing change-over reduction, multi-spindle setups) to manage cost. The crossover from CNC machining to dedicated tooling is around 10,000 off per year.
