Confirm your specific quality requirement, AS9100 or NADCAP for instance, since these are separate, more specialised certifications beyond standard ISO 9001.

A complete engineering drawing, with dimensions, tolerances, material spec and finish requirement, is sufficient. A sample part is helpful but not required if the drawing is complete. Incomplete drawings, missing tolerance callouts, ambiguous datums, are the most common cause of quoting delays and first-article rejections, so a thorough drawing review upfront saves time.
