Solar Structures for Australia projects, made in India
What it takes to land solar structures on a Australia site: the port they clear through, the standards a consultant will hold them to, and the paperwork that has to travel with them.
Getting solar structures into Australia
An Australian mine site does not reject product on price. It rejects on marking. AS/NZS 3000 for earthing and AS 1657 for grating, with a certificate that names the standard rather than gesturing at it. India already ships around 15% of its cable tray output into Australia, most of it into Pilbara and Queensland resources work.
Port of entry
Port Botany, Sydney
Also cleared through Port of Melbourne, Port of Fremantle, Perth, Port of Brisbane.

Trade picture
Australia is the #3 global importer of cable trays from India. 260 shipments, approximately 15% of global cable tray exports from India (Volza customs data). The dominant buying sector is resources: Western Australian mining projects (BHP, Rio Tinto, Fortescue at the Pilbara iron ore sites and Browse LNG basin) require HDG ladder cable trays to AS/NZS standards, electroforged grating panels to AS 1657, and earthing systems to AS 3000 across large open-cut mine sites. The Queensland LNG sector (Curtis Island, Gladstone) drives structural steel and pipe support imports. Australia imposes ZERO import duty on cable trays (HS 7308.90) and gratings (HS 7308.90.10) under the MFN tariff schedule, no FTA required. The primary compliance standard is AS/NZS 3000 (Wiring Rules) for earthing, AS 1657 for gratings, and ASTM A123 (accepted by most Australian mining specifications) for HDG coating thickness. Inspection documents (EN 10204 Type 3.1 MTC, coating-thickness test report) are mandatory for most mining contractor approvals.
Solar Panel Mounting Structures
Roll-formed and fabricated solar mounting structures in pre-galvanized and hot-dip galvanized steel: ground-mount tables, rooftop rail systems and tracker-ready frames, sized to site wind and snow loads with matched fasteners and clamps.

Solar Structures into Australia — the questions that come up
Answered by the people who make the product, not a sales desk.
Site location and basic wind speed (or wind zone per your local standard), snow load if applicable, module dimensions and weight, array configuration (modules per row or table), pile or foundation type, tilt angle, ground clearance and project MWp. Without these, any quote is indicative only and will likely change once the structure is actually engineered.
Commercial invoice and packing list with correct HS codes, Mill Test Certificates for structural steel, hot-dip galvanizing certificates stating zinc thickness, a structural calculation report to the site-specific design code, and a Certificate of Origin for duty relief under applicable trade agreements.
Solar structure orders get sized to project MWp rather than a fixed piece-count minimum, and a 1 MWp order is a realistic entry point for export container economics. Tell us your project capacity and site wind data and we'll confirm the most efficient shipment plan.
Standard ground-mount and rooftop structures typically ship in 5 to 8 weeks from order confirmation once the structural design is finalized against your site wind and snow data, depending on project MWp and current factory load. Design finalization, confirming wind zone, module spec and layout, is usually what sets the schedule, so provide that data early.
Hot-dip galvanizing to ASTM A123 with 85 µm minimum on pre-galvanized members, or HDG to ASTM A123 at 100 µm for piles in aggressive soil. The zinc loss model gives 25 years at most Indian and Middle East sites. Coastal sites near the splash zone need duplex (HDG + paint).
