Heat-shrink sleeving adds phase-colour identification and a layer of insulation or mechanical protection where busbar runs sit exposed within touching distance, or where phase segregation is required by the panel design standard. It's common on LV switchgear and distribution boards; unsleeved, bare or tinned, busbar is standard inside fully enclosed, IP-rated compartments.

Copper busbar tracks close to the LME (London Metal Exchange) copper price, plus a processing premium for cutting, punching, bending and tinning, so the base cost genuinely moves day to day. As a rough guide, expect the LME copper rate per kg plus roughly 15 to 30% for standard machining and finishing. For anything beyond a rough budget, ask for a live quote pegged to current LME pricing.

Copper is a globally traded commodity, and busbar quotes are typically pegged to the LME cash price on the day of order confirmation, plus the manufacturer's processing premium. On large orders, ask whether the supplier will hold a price for a defined window or index it to LME at shipment instead; that avoids disputes if copper moves significantly between quotation and production.
