Cantilever arms suit narrow corridors where vertical posts on both sides aren't practical — cable and pipe corridors along plant boundaries, alongside conveyors, or in trenches. Horizontal racks with portal frames are better for wide, multi-tier corridors. Site geometry usually makes the call obvious.
300, 450, 600, 750, 900 mm are off-the-shelf arm lengths. Above 1.0 m the cantilever moment grows quickly — we add a bracing strut to the post or fabricate a custom welded arm with a heavier section. Share the load and length and we'll size the assembly.
E250 (Fe410) is the working standard for cable-rack supports. For heavy pipe-rack work supporting filled process pipes we use E350 (Fe490) and validate the connection with IS 800. Higher-strength steels save weight and zinc-coating mass at scale.
Bolted racks come apart for refurbishment, reconfiguration and repainting — they're the right call for plants that change layout often (chemical, pharma). Welded racks are stiffer and cheaper at first build but committed once installed. Most EPC packages mix bolted joints at the post-to-arm interface and welded joints inside the post.
Hot-dip galvanizing to ASTM A123 minimum 85 µm (or 610 g/m² mass) is the working standard for outdoor service. Coastal sites push to 100 µm or duplex (HDG + epoxy paint). Industrial atmosphere with SO₂ and chlorides benefits from the duplex finish.
Manufacturing & Surface Treatment
All products are manufactured at Vajra's Howrah facility under ISO 9001:2015 quality management. In-house roll-forming, welding, galvanizing and testing — without sub-contractor dependency — ensures consistent dimensional accuracy and surface quality across export orders.
Precision Roll-Forming
CNC roll-forming lines capable of ±0.1 mm dimensional tolerance on MS, GI, SS, and aluminium sections.
Hot-Dip Galvanizing
In-house HDG plant conforming to ASTM A123 / IS 2629. Average coating: 85–140 µm. Pre-treatment: alkaline degreasing → pickling → fluxing.
Welding & Fabrication
MIG, TIG, SAW welding. Coded welders under ASME IX / IS 2825 qualification. Weld inspection by UT / DPT available.
Surface Treatment
Hot-dip galvanizing · Pre-galvanized GI · Powder coating (Tribo gun, 60–80 µm DFT) · Mill finish · Chromate passivation.
