The diamond (or tear-drop) pattern is the universal industrial standard — it gives multi-directional slip resistance and drains effectively. Square-pattern plate is occasionally specified for aesthetic flooring in commercial buildings. Function-driven projects almost always choose diamond.
3 mm for foot-traffic decks (catwalks, mezzanines), 5 mm for trolley/cart traffic, 6 mm for forklift and material-handling. The chequered pattern adds about 1 mm to the nominal — design loads are on the base plate thickness. We share span tables on request.
Yes — we drill, edge-trim, weld stiffeners and HDG or paint to the BOQ. For trench covers we add lifting handles and hinge brackets. Site teams just bolt down — no hot work needed.
Yes — trench covers are sized to EN 124 classes A15, B125, C250, D400 (pedestrian to heavy vehicle). The cover profile, edge angle, and lifting points are configured to the trench width and traffic. We supply the calculation with the order.
HDG is the default for outdoor and industrial. For specialty applications: epoxy paint (interior wet zones, food-grade), stainless 304/316 (pharma, food, marine), and self-colour with site painting for indoor decorative use.
Manufacturing & Surface Treatment
All products are manufactured at Vajra's Howrah facility under ISO 9001:2015 quality management. In-house roll-forming, welding, galvanizing and testing — without sub-contractor dependency — ensures consistent dimensional accuracy and surface quality across export orders.
Precision Roll-Forming
CNC roll-forming lines capable of ±0.1 mm dimensional tolerance on MS, GI, SS, and aluminium sections.
Hot-Dip Galvanizing
In-house HDG plant conforming to ASTM A123 / IS 2629. Average coating: 85–140 µm. Pre-treatment: alkaline degreasing → pickling → fluxing.
Welding & Fabrication
MIG, TIG, SAW welding. Coded welders under ASME IX / IS 2825 qualification. Weld inspection by UT / DPT available.
Surface Treatment
Hot-dip galvanizing · Pre-galvanized GI · Powder coating (Tribo gun, 60–80 µm DFT) · Mill finish · Chromate passivation.
